Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the only superstar to have crossed from country into the mainstream and then to be a pop icon worldwide. Swift shed her country roots as though they were part of her skin revealing that she was arguably the smartest populist singer/songwriter of her generation someone who was able to harness the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform in the opposite direction. This was evident in her early hits including the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album, 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out who she was and, in doing so, gaining an audience of mass. Fearless went on to become a global hit and not just in the United States (where it earned as platinum six times for Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. and other countries. Swift could build on her success through Speak Now almost two year after. In the following three years, her fame increased -the albums - Red (2012), Reputation (2014), and 1989 (2014-2015) -- as Swift entered the world of pop music with her skills already established. In the end, when she refocused her music by releasing stripped-down albums like 2020, folklore, and Evermore but she was still in the top spot. The position was defended with the re-recordings she had made from her earlier catalog, as along with Midnights the synth-based chart-topper 2022 album.
